Manufacturing Manager - Timber Frame
Suffolk / Cambridgeshire/ Essex / Bedfordshire
£50,000 to £55,000 plus bonus of £7,000 to
£8,000 pa + package
Manufacturing Manager to move forward and
develop timber based offsite manufacturing in a rapidly
changing environment. Driving for efficiency improvements is
central to this major company's strategy, and is why they
have improving profitability and are set to increase
turnover next year. Their product offering has changed
significantly toward advanced timber frame closed panel
manufacture suited to higher margin markets essential in
this the company's current success. Your challenge is to
drive manufacturing changes and improvements to suit this
new business direction. This will involve managing several
manufacturing environment and undertaking major change.
The client produces a range of advanced products which is rapidly
changing towards more advanced innovative solutions, thus
requiring a significant turnaround in their manufacturing
environment.
Experience as a Production Manager, manufacturing Timber Frame, Glulam,
Steel Frame, SIPS, Modular Building or similar construction
related solutions is essential. Early potential to progress
to Manufacturing Director Designate (possibly within a year)
so applications from Manufacturing Manager / Factory Manager
level candidates are also welcome.
You will bring lean manufacturing and continuous improvement skills,
along with an understanding of how best to implement these
within the restrictions of the construction sector.
Additionally you will have a practical approach to the
urgency of production in line with changing and demanding
client requirements, ensuring that orders go out on time and
to a high quality standard on all projects.
This is a fast moving environment with the most demanding clients, and
equally demanding senior management, who have ambitious
plans for the business. They have successfully grown the
business into challenging and higher margin growth markets
with blue chip clients over the last year, with a
significant part of the order book assured into the next
financial year already.
This will initially be a very hands on role, demonstrating the way to
the 30+ strong workforce.
