We pride ourselves on being an ethical business here at ARV Solutions, and our charity work is part of this.
All employees are granted two working days a year towards charitable events. Read on to discover some of the causes we have been involved in.
Our Senior Account Manager Paul bravely signed up to run in the local Tough Mudder race in May, which raises money for Help for Heroes. Tough Mudder is a muddy obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to challenge the toughest of the tough. Here are some photos of Paul and his team smashing it on the course:
It's only early days for us working with this fantastic Bristol based charity but we can't wait to get more involved and help out with their cause. The charity's founder, Jasper, has come up with an ingenious way to help the homeless in Bristol - turn shipping containers (and a double decker bus!) into temporary shelters. We plan to help out on site with painting/admin work later this year. Read more about the charity on their website.
Throughout December 2017 we supported the Salvation Army in Bristol with their Christmas Present Appeal by collecting gift donations from our own staff and local businesses. Donations included hats, scarves, tins of food and toys and games (including this amazing Star Wars game below).
We were overwhelmed by the generous donations from local businesses including Bodywise and Pick Everard, so thank you very much to everyone who contributed.
On the 13th December we also celebrated Christmas Jumper Day. While this was a lot of fun (we had a secret santa present swap on the same day too), it also had a good cause behind it since we used the event to raise funds for Save the Children.
Some of our team had a great time working alongside some very enthusiastic Year 6 pupils from Filton Hill Primary School helping build them a vegetable garden at their school.
We donated £500 towards establishing the garden as somewhere for the pupils to learn about growing their own produce. Huge thanks as well to our client Fountain Timber for providing timber materials at trade cost, freeing up more funds for seeds and equipment.
This year some of our female staff will be taking part in 'Pretty Muddy' in order to raise funds for Cancer Research. More news to follow on future events...
