Are you a Design Engineer / Project Manager with good understanding of steel? Are you looking for a great opportunity to use your design and project management skills?

 

We are working with a small, highly successful and dynamic business involved in the design, supply and management of projects for steel buildings (cold rolled and hot rolled systems).  They supply to both industrial and commercial projects as well as domestic, education, leisure and utilities and are ISO 9001 accredited. 

 

 

 

They are looking to add to their design and project management capacity with a Design Engineer to prepare AutoCAD based designs which will lead to successful installation.

 

 

 

Prepare drawings using AutoCAD, Sketch up and some 3D modelling

 

At the order stage construct detail designs, GA and construction drawings, compile Bills of Materials and source materials for the specific projects

 

During the project, liaising with suppliers and working with construction manager. 

 

 

 

About you:

 

Good experience from steel-based construction and likely to have held a number of responsibilities including design/detailing, project management and some commercial

 

Ability to propose commercially viable, high quality and practical solutions to the array of challenges presented

 

Good literacy and numeracy and excellent IT skills particularly AutoCAD (3D would be highly advantageous)

 

Able to work to detail and with accuracy

 

Strong communication skills at various levels (client senior management, site staff etc)

 

Initiative and common sense

 

Awareness of commercial pressures and able to change priorities to suit "live" projects

 

Strong team working ethic

 

Full car driving licence and able to travel (pool car provided) to sites throughout the UK. Some overnight stays may very occasionally be required.
