Jim Roach, ARV Solutions Managing Director has been shortlisted for the Investors In People Award for People’s Manager of the Year.

Jim was nominated by the team due to his unique and inspiring leadership and his support and encouragement regarding professional development.  Led by Jim ARV Solutions genuinely aim to Add Real Value to what we do, ensuring the company is outcome led rather than fee led, leads to a better working environment and healthier atmosphere within the office with a focus on ‘team effort’. People love their jobs at ARV Solutions and the working environment Jim helps create. 

From Jim’s leadership, we now have a leadership team capable of developing new recruits through both training and mentorship in the same culture. Our strong year on year growth and recent award as Investors In People Gold, achieved at our very first attempt is testament to this. He has developed our recruitment business with a new model based on service, to gain repeat and referral business rather than the traditional sales approach (90% of our clients are repeat or referred now)

•Grown from 1 to 10 staff with plans to get to 25 in next 3 years

•Lead by a drive to fill the jobs properly rather than focus on the fees

•Shared commissions among all staff encouraging our collaborative team environment

•Development of leaders and leadership skills within the business

•Leading through example and through coaching and mentoring

•Genuinely open and supportive, honest and ethical 

• Strong communication through regular appraisals, and one to ones, weekly whole team meetings, and senior staff meetings to empower them in the running of the business.

•We are passionate and knowledgeable about our clients’ business and the offsite construction sector

•Encouraged all our staff to build strong relationships across our client sectors through exhibiting at trade events, sponsoring and attending industry awards, and recently judging awards

•We are active members of our client sector trade associations: STA, MPBA and TRADA – the only recruitment business to be invited into all of these.

•Encouragement and financial support for gaining professional qualifications

•Implemented an Advanced Apprenticeship scheme

•All staff take responsibility for continuous improvement
